If your toddler is like mine, you’re exhausted trying to keep up! Your baby’s first birthday comes with many milestones. They may start walking on their own, babbling, saying words, and can even boss you around without saying words. Plus, both of you have survived a FULL year, and you have 978,463,897,231 pictures to prove it.

One of the most significant nutritional milestones is that a baby can “officially” wean off breastmilk or formula, and can eat most foods. The biggest question I get from most moms (besides how to wean) is which milk they should use to wean their toddler?

Cow milk is the most common milk option for toddlers beyond the first year. However, my son never drank cow’s milk, not as an infant in formula and not now as a toddler. I’m finding many other moms are looking for other alternatives with their children for many different reasons. Here’s a look at why I started to use toddler formula for my growing baby when many others began weaning to regular cow’s milk.

Peace of Mind Nutrition

Once a child hits their first birthday, they can eat pretty much everything. Most of their nutrition should be coming from food. Milk isn’t even technically required. Calcium can come from many other sources like full-fat Greek yogurt, broccoli, kale, goat cheese, tahini, or almond butter. However, for many toddlers, their pallets aren’t very adventurous. Even if they did eat all these nutrient-dense foods early on in the food introduction process, the chances are that they will become picky at some point during toddlerhood. So, it’s essential to have a go-to solution for peace of mind nutrition. In my case, it’s Kabrita Goat Milk Toddler Formula.

I’m lucky that my son is an adventurous eater. He eats everything, but many days we are on-the-go, so ensuring he gets proper nutrition is always important to me. The reason why I chose to use Kabrita Goat Milk Toddler Formula is not just for bone health but for so many of the other nutrients required for growing toddler.

Essential Fatty Acids is a Reason To Use Formula for Growing Toddler

Healthy fats are critical for the growth of your baby, mainly for brain development. The majority of brain growth occurs within the first two years of life. The brain grows 260% in the 3rd trimester, 175% in the 1st year, 18% in the 2nd year and 21% from 2 years to adulthood. Plus, 60% of the brain is fat, which is why the quality of the lipids is so essential, especially omega-3 fatty acids. Regular cow milk, raw goat milk, and plant-based milk do not contain any omega-3 fatty acids. Kabrita Goat Milk Formula contains omega-3 fatty acid including DHA and ARA, which are essential for healthy brain development and eye health.

Bone Building Nutrients: Vitamin K

We’ve been conditioned to believe that milk is essential for bone health. Calcium is important, but so are other minerals like magnesium, Vitamin D, and Vitamin K. While milk that comes from cows, goat, almond, and soy contain magnesium and Vitamin D, they don’t have Vitamin K, which is vital for optimal bone health. It transports the calcium from your blood to your bones, acting as the glue that makes bone-enriching calcium stick. K1 is a fat-soluble vitamin that, in conjunction with vitamin D, helps bones absorb calcium. Kabrita Goat Milk Formula contains 13mcg of K1 which is nearly half of the daily recommended intake for toddlers!

Nutrient Dense

Kabrita Goat Milk Formula has 22 different vitamins and minerals. Unlike the other kinds of milk, it contains a good source of iron, B vitamins, and immune boosting Vitamin C. It also contains 5 grams of protein per cup, where most plant-based milk barely contain any protein. Kabrita adds goat whey protein to simulate the 60:40 ratio of whey-to-casein in breast milk, in an easy to digest form. And, contains Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS), a type of prebiotic fiber that can support gut health.

Gentle On Tiny Tummies

Kabrita is made using goat milk, so it’s much more comfortable to digest on little tummies. Goat milk protein is naturally easy to digest since it forms a smaller, softer and looser curd in the gut compared to cow milk protein. Plus, I found it to be gentle on my son’s skin as well. Regular cow’s milk gives him terrible eczema. Even if I give him too much regular yogurt, his skin flares up and tummy gets upset. Although he eats well, I use Kabrita as a “supplement” to ensure he’s getting proper nutrition, in a way that’s gentle on his little tummy!

Kabrita non-GMO Goat Milk Formula is designed to maintain the natural comfort of little ones during feeding transitions, such as weaning, supplementing or changing formulas due to skin or tummy troubles*.
